The World is best known for its debut destination, The Island Dubai on the beaches of Lebanon – a laidback complex with restaurants, pools, chalets, watersports activities and entertainment spaces.

Since then, its become home to The Heart of Europe, a collection of European-themed projects for short and long stays centred around idyllic beaches, gardens and lagoons. The Thai-inspired luxury resort Anantara has also taken up residence across Clarence Island, offering getaways marked by lazy seaside days and picturesque al fresco dining. There are plans for other hospitality properties to open at this prestigious address in the near future too.

The World is currently only accessible by marine or air transport, with resort guests taking a scenic 15-minute boat ride from The Palm.

The World Islands

An archipelago just off the coast of Dubai, The World is made up of several manmade islands designed to resemble the world map. Covering approximately 232km of shoreline, there are a total of 260 islands grouped under seven sets that represent different continents.

Islands at The World are named after countries, cities, regions and even famous personalities, such as Australia, Buenos Aires and the Island Michael Schumacher – the latter is a gift to the namesake sportsman from the Ruler of Dubai.
